Western actions prompt Russia, Belarus to expedite integration - Putin

MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - The unprecedented external pressure on Russia and Belarus prompts them to expedite integration processes, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"The unprecedented political and sanctions pressure by the so-called collective West prompts us to expedite unification processes," Putin said in his address to participants in the Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions.

"Russia and Belarus cherish and multiply the fine traditions of close friendship and mutual assistance," he said.

"We have achieved a truly exemplary level of strategic partnership and alliance, while the Union State sets an example of truly mutually beneficial and equal integration," Putin said.
