Nearly 16 mln people in Ukraine need humanitarian aid - UN

MOSCOW. June 30 (Interfax) - Nearly 16 million people in Ukraine need humanitarian aid, Ukrainian media outlets have quoted UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Osnat Lubrani as saying.

Nearly 16 million people in Ukraine are in need of humanitarian assistance, water, food, healthcare, shelter and protection, Lubrani said at the Ukraine Media Center in Kyiv on Thursday.

This is insufficient data, which the UN and its humanitarian partners are reviewing, Lubrani said. There are more than 6 million internally displaced persons, about 5 million have managed to come back, but many of them realize they might have to flee again, she said.
