Belarus might propose discounted Eurobond buyback to investors - Finance Ministry

MINSK. June 29 (Interfax) - Belarus is prepared to offer to repurchase Eurobonds from investors at a significant discount, as coupon payments are being blocked amid Western sanctions, Belarusian Finance Minister Yury Seliverstov said.

"For those who can't receive [coupon payments] one way or the other for various reasons due to system blocks, we propose repurchasing our securities, but at a rather large discount, because the prices of our securities are currently at 18% [per annum]," Seliverstov said in a snippet of audio commentary provided to Interfax by the press service for the Finance Ministry.
