Former NATO Secretary General Rasmussen to launch group on Ukrainian security guarantees in Kyiv

MOSCOW. June 29 (Interfax) - Former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit Ukraine on July 1 to launch an advisory group on Ukrainian security guarantees, chief of staff of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

G7 members "are ready to join the development of a system of permanent security guarantees for Ukraine and strengthening of its resilience," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Yermak as saying.

"This is the range of issues to be addressed by an advisory group led jointly with Mr. Rasmussen," Yermak said.

Ukraine "does not need assurances, it needs properly ratified security guarantees. This is a package of measures that primary ensures the provision of defense capacities and recovery of Ukraine's military-technical potential, alongside Ukraine's maximum integration with international political and economic formats," he said.
