UN World Food Program office to resume operation in Ukraine

MOSCOW. June 29 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved a draft agreement with the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) on renewing the agreement to open the WFP office in Ukraine.

The government made the decision on Friday, Ukrainian media outlets said, quoting Government Representative to the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.

The draft envisages the reopening of the WFP office in Ukraine, rapid response to emergencies, including the allotment of financial and in-kind assistance to the affected areas, and the promotion of Ukrainian companies' involvement in the procurement of agricultural products and food for the needs of international humanitarian projects of the UN World Food Program.
