G7 countries vow to support Ukraine 'as long as it takes' - communique

BERLIN. June 28 (Interfax) - The leaders of the Group of Seven countries have declared their intention to provide Ukraine with as much financial, military, and humanitarian assistance as necessary.

"We will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes, providing the needed financial, humanitarian, military, and diplomatic support in its courageous defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity," a communique adopted at the G7 summit in Germany says.

The G7 countries also declared their intention to intensify assistance to Ukraine in helping it manufacture and export its goods.

The G7 countries have provided Ukraine with humanitarian aid exceeding $2.8 billion in 2022 and are ready to grant or have pledged and provided it with $29.5 billion in budget aid, the document says.

The G7 leaders announced plans to hold an international conference to raise funds for Ukraine's reconstruction and to extend restrictions on Russia.
