Kazakhstan continuing to relocate foreign IT companies to its territory - minister

NUR-SULTAN. June 28 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan is continuing to facilitate the relocation of foreign IT companies to its territory, Kazakh Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Musin said.

"Extensive work is underway to relocate foreign IT companies to the country. A result has already been achieved. The work in this direction will have its effect," Musin said at a government meeting on Tuesday.

The materials circulated during the government's meeting indicate that companies such as Playrix, Nexters and Mytona, which develop video games, the Tinkoff Bank online bank, the InDriver travel service, and the Level Travel online holiday booking company have already relocated to Kazakhstan.

The Astana international finance center at the Expat Center has launched a "one window" service for foreign IT specialists, more than 1,000 of whom have received assistance to date, Musin said.

Meanwhile, IT exports have more than doubled over the past two years, the minister said.

The volume of the IT market stood at $3.6 billion last year.

Contracts worth $800,000 have been signed as part of the export acceleration program. Presentations have been held in eight foreign countries to support Kazakh companies on foreign markets.
