G7 intention to set maximum prices for Russian gas is subject for talks - Peskov

MOSCOW. June 28 (Interfax) - The intention of the Group of Seven (G7) countries to set maximum prices for Russian gas is a subject for negotiations, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

Journalists asked Peskov to comment on media reports saying that G7 countries were seeking ways to cap prices for Russian energy resources; they also asked him whether Russia would be prepared to sell gas at prices set by the G7 countries.

"It depends on the destinations and it depends on a decision to be made by Gazprom," Peskov said.

He assumed that the G7 countries "would raise the issue of changing the terms and conditions of the existing contracts, changing the price, how this is possible from the legal standpoint, and so on."

"Therefore, this is a subject of negotiations and a subject of contacts," Peskov said.
