Felix Yevtushenkov re-elected chairman of MTS board

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - The board of directors of Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has re-elected Felix Yevtushenkov chairman, Russia's leading mobile provider reported after Friday's board meeting.

Yevtushenkov, who has serviced as MTS board chairman since June 2019, also holds the position of senior managing partner at Sistema PJSFC , holds a seat on the corporation's board of directors and chairs the board of trustees of the Sistema Charitable Foundation.

Earlier last week, MTS shareholders voted at their annual meeting to appoint Paul Berriman, who serves on the boards of telecoms Spark New Zealand and Rain Network Holdings Pty South Africa, to the board of directors.

They also re-elected the other directors of the nine-member board, including Felix Yevtushenkov; Sistema vice president for strategy Artem Zassoursky, MTS CEO Vyacheslav Nikolayev, as well as Regina von Flemming, Shaygan Kheradpir, Thomas Holtrop, Nadia Shouraboura and Valentin Yumashev as independent directors.

Von Flemming has been elected deputy chairman of the board.

The MTS management board, meanwhile, will be joined by Yury Samoylov as of July 1 in the position of vice president for infrastructure development. He will succeed Igor Yegorov, who will become an advisor to MTS's president.

Since 2007, Samoylov has headed cloud and commercial data-center provider DataLine LLC, which has been part of the Rostelecom Data Centers group since 2020. From 2005 to 2007, he served as CEO of IBS DataFort, and from 2000 to 2005 he held various senior positions at this company.
