Top Ukrainian and U.S. officials, military commanders speak over phone

MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - Head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's Office Andriy Yermak and Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhny held a phone conversation with U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley.

During the phone call, which took place as part of the sides' continuous dialogue, Yermak and Zaluzhny underscored the U.S.' leading role in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and thanked the U.S. for its comprehensive support, the Ukrainian media quoted the Ukrainian presidential press service as saying.

Earlier this month, on June 2, the parties discussed a new package of U.S. military assistance for Ukraine.
