Ukraine exports 907,000 tonnes of grain so far in June, shipments up 9.2% in MY - AgMin

MOSCOW. June 22 (Interfax) - Ukraine exported 907,000 tonnes of grain in the period June 1-22, the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry said.

It said 553,000 tonnes of this was corn.

The exports were half of the 1.75 million tonnes shipped abroad in the first 22 days of June 2021.

Ukraine exported 294,000 tonnes of grain or a daily 42,000 tonnes in the period June 16-22, up 3% from 613,000 tonnes or 40,900 tonnes in the period June 1-15.

The country exported 250,000 tonnes of corn, 36,000 tonnes of wheat, 6,000 tonnes of barley and 200 tonnes of flour between June 16 and 22.

Ukraine exported 48 million tonnes of grain and pulses in the marketing year that began on July 1, 2021, up 9.2% from a year previously, thanks to a record harvest and high export intensity prior to February 24. This included 18.68 million tonnes of wheat, up 13.8%; 23.12 million tonnes of corn, up 2.3%; 5.73 million tonnes of barley, up 36.3%; and 68,800 tonnes of flour, down 44.8%.

If current agro-industrial complex portal data are compared with February 21, the last update before the Russian military operation, then it can be established that since then Ukraine has exported 5.46 million tonnes of grains and pulses, of which 4.44 million tonnes of corn, 830,000 tonnes of wheat, 160,000 tonnes of barley and 4,000 tonnes of flour.

Ukraine exported 44.72 million tonnes of grain and pulses in the 2020-2021 marketing year, of which 16.64 million tonnes wheat, 23.08 million tonnes corn and 4.23 million tonnes barley. It also exported 126,900 tonnes of flour and 18,400 tonnes of rye.
