Lithuania limits truck transit between Kaliningrad region, rest of Russia - regional authorities
KALININGRAD. June 21 (Interfax) - Lithuania has extended the restrictions on transportation of sanctioned goods to the Kaliningrad region onto trucks, the Kaliningrad regional government's press service told Interfax.
"A partial ban on cargo traffic now applies to trucks going through Lithuania. So, goods normally carried by rail and trucks can only be transported by sea now," the press service said.
A number of transportation companies confirmed the information to Interfax and said that Lithuanian customs was sending back trucks from the Medininkai checkpoint on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border and a long line of trucks had formed there.
