Aeroflot subsidiary granted status to develop aircraft components

MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Aircraft maintenance and repair provider A-Technics, part of the Aeroflot Group , has passed the audit of Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) in order to obtain a certificate as an aircraft parts developer.

A-Technics is now permitted to develop documentation for manufacturing "a number of components for any type of aircraft of domestic and western production," the company said.

"As part of the obtained approval, the provider will develop documentation for manufacturing and modifying components for catering equipment, passenger compartments, cockpits, emergency equipment, insulation, cladding, and others," A-Technics said.

A-Technics will produce parts jointly with partner organizations that have manufacturing certificates, as well as independently.

Western sanctions imposed after the launch of the military operation in Ukraine prohibit the supply of civil aircraft and spare parts to Russia, as well as preforming maintenance and issuing insurance for aircraft.
