Russian Energy Ministry expecting to launch generation for Eastern Polygon in 2027, despite current situation

MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - The current situation has affected the timing of work on the construction of power facilities for the expansion of the Eastern Polygon of Russian Railways (RZD), but the Energy Ministry expects to put generation capacity into operation before 2027, Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak said during a meeting of the Federation Council.

"Of course, the current situation - it has affected the timing of construction and launch of facilities. But at the same time, we expect to commission all the generation facilities and ensure power supply and delivery to consumers by the year 2027," he said.
