Verkhovna Rada asks EU members to give EU candidate status to Ukraine
MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada has urged EU member states to support the EU candidate status of Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak (Holos faction) said on Telegram on Sunday.
"The parliament has unanimously supported the call on EU member states for granting the EU candidate status to Ukraine," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Zheleznyak as saying.
Resolution 7471 passed by 315 votes, he said.
The Verkhovna Rada asked EU members to focus on guaranteeing global food security and taking relevant measures to ensure safe and continuous exports of Ukrainian grain.
It also urged the EU to help rebuild Ukrainian infrastructure, healthcare establishments, residential buildings and schools and assist in further process of Ukraine's modernization consistent with the EU Recovery Plan for Ukraine.
