Passenger flows into, out of Ukraine via western border almost equal in past 10 days - State Border Service

MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - The number of people who have left Ukraine via its western border is almost equal to the number of people who have arrived in Ukraine through the western border over the past ten days, Ukrainian media outlets quoted Ukraine's State Border Service as saying on social media.

Nearly 36,000 people exited Ukraine on June 16 as compared to 40,000 the day before, while the number of arrivals stood at over 38,000 on June 16, slightly up from over 37,000 the day before, the State Border Service said.

The number of vehicles with humanitarian cargoes cleared for entry to Ukraine declined to 125 on June 16 from 151 the day before, it said.

Data released by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees as of 1:00 p.m. on June 14 show that 7.567 million people have left Ukraine since February 24. Of them, Poland has taken 3.955 million, Russia 1.189 million, Hungary 764,220, Romania 642,160, Moldova 498,900, Slovakia 501,340, and Belarus 16,650.

A total of 2.479 million people (not counting arrivals from Hungary, Russia and Belarus) crossed into Ukraine between February 28 and June 13, according to UN figures.
