Russia registers 3,373 new cases of Covid-19, 63 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 3,373 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 1,370 hospitalizations and 63 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Friday.

"As of June 17, Russia recorded 3,373 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,370 patients were hospitalized, down 4.9% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 35 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 41, and remained unchanged in nine.

Another 63 patients died from Covid-19 over the day, versus 67 the day before.

Daily morbidity has grown by 47 cases from 3,326 infections reported on Thursday. Fewer than 3,000 infections were reported at the beginning of the week, until June 16, which was the lowest number since April 14, 2020, when Russia recorded almost 2,800 Covid-19 cases.

"Another 4,228 patients have recovered over the day, down 10% from June 16," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,341,761 cases of Covid-19, including 380,333 deaths and 17,814,994 recoveries.
