Rosgeo to present pilot for seismic data processing to ADNOC in June, start talks on big contract in July

ST. PETERSBURG. June 17 (Interfax) - Rosgeo will present the results of a pilot project to interpret Persian Gulf seismic data to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in June, the Russian state exploration company's CEO, Sergei Gorkov told Interfax at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"We are continuing negotiations with the Arab Emirates. We will already submit the first phase of work to our colleagues by the end of June, we hope before the 20th, and in July we'll begin negotiations on a big contract," Gorkov said.

It was reported earlier that Rosgeo is carrying out a pilot project to process seismic data for ADNOC.

"The pilot project is fairly large - 50 petabytes of information for processing and interpreting the seismics of the Persian Gulf. [...] These are seismics over more than 30 years, done by various companies, at different times, different quality. We need to put all this together. So far no one has managed to put it together," Gorkov said in November 2021. He also said at the time that the company was not being paid for this pilot project.
