Russia registers 3,326 new cases of Covid-19, 67 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 3,326 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 1,442 hospitalizations and 67 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Thursday.

"As of June 16, Russia recorded 3,326 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,442 patients were hospitalized, up 27.5% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 21 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 56, and has remained unchanged in eight.

Another 67 patients died from Covid-19 over the past day, as against 66 the day before.

The daily morbidity has grown by 608 cases from 2,718 infections reported on Wednesday. Before that, fewer than 3,000 infections were registered over three consecutive days, which was the minimal number since April 14, 2020, when almost 2,800 Covid-19 cases were recorded.

"Another 4,699 patients recovered over the pat day, up 3.8% from June 15," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,338,388 cases of Covid-19, including 380,270 deaths and 17,810,766 recoveries.
