Germany resumes issuing tourist visas for Russians

MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Germany is resuming the issuance of all types of visas, including tourist ones, for Russians, the website of Germany's diplomatic missions in Russia said.

"We're resuming receiving applications for visas needed to enter Germany for any purpose of travel via the VisaMetric visa service centers. An interview can be scheduled on the company's website," the website said.

Delays are possible due to high demand during the submission of visa applications and issuances, the diplomatic mission said.

At present, the consular fees can be paid only in rubles in cash or using a bank card issued in Germany, it said.

Germany temporarily lifted all Covid-related restrictions on entering the country starting on June 11; people can travel to Germany without a vaccination certificate, a negative PCR rest result, or a medical record of having recovered from Covid-19.
