Ukraine exports 613,000 tonnes of grain since beginning of June - ministry

MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Ukraine exported 613,000 tonnes of grain from June 1 to June 15, 2022, with corn (553,000 tonnes) accounting for 90% of these exports.

The pace of grain exports since the beginning of June 2022 have been 40% lower than in the same period of 2021, when Ukraine exported 1.03 million tonnes of grain on June 1-15, 2021, the Ukrainian media quoted the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food as saying on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the pace of agriculture exports from Ukraine between June 1 and June 15 increased as compared to what it was during the previous reporting period of May 19-30. Ukraine exported 613,000 tonnes of grain in the first half of June, or 40,860 tonnes per day, whereas it exported 417,000 tonnes of grain, or 34,700 tonnes per day, between May 19 and May 30. Thus, the average daily pace of exports over the first 15 days of June grew 17.7% as compared to these figures to May 19-30.

Between June 1 and June 15, 2022, Ukraine exported 553,000 tonnes of corn, 42,000 tonnes wheat, 15,000 tonnes of barley, and 800 tonnes of flour.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, since the beginning of the 2021/2022 marketing year (July-June) and as of June 15, Ukraine has exported 47.71 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, which is 10.3% more than the figures for the same date of the previous marketing year. The increase was due to the record large harvest this marketing year and the high intensity of exports until February 24.

Since the beginning of the 2021/2022 marketing year and as of June 15, Ukraine has exported 18.64 million tonnes wheat, an 15.1% rise as compared to the results on the same date of the 2020/2021 marketing year, 22.22 million tonnes of corn (+3.1%), 5.68 million tonnes of barley (+38.2%), and 70,600 tonnes of flour (-41.4%).

A comparison of today's data on the agricultural sectors web portal and the figures on February 21 shows that Ukraine exported 5.17 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops over this period, including 4.19 million tonnes of corn, 0.79 million tonnes of wheat, 0.16 million tonnes of barley, and 0.004 million tonnes of flour.

As reported, in the 2020/2021 marketing year Ukraine exported 44.72 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, among them 16.64 million tonnes of what, 23.08 million tonnes of corn, 4.23 million tonnes of barley, 126,900 tonnes of flour, and 18,400 tonnes of rye.

Ukraine exported 56.72 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops in the 2019/2020 marketing year.
