Russia registers 2,718 new cases of Covid-19, 66 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 2,718 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 1,989 hospitalizations and 66 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

"As of June 15, Russia recorded 2,718 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,989 patients were hospitalized, up 180.9% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 72 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in six, and has remained unchanged in seven, it said.

Another 66 patients have died from Covid-19, as against 61 the day before.

The daily morbidity has decreased by 79 from 2,797 infections reported on Tuesday. Russia has been reporting fewer than 3,000 cases of Covid-19 for three consecutive days, which is the lowest number since April 14, 2020, when Russia recorded almost 2,800 infections.

"Another 4,528 patients have recovered over the past day, up 36.2% from June 14," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,385,062 cases of Covid-19, including 380,203 deaths and 17,806,097 recoveries.
