Oil and gas accounting system launched in Kazakhstan

NUR-SULTAN. June 14 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's oil and gas accounting system has been rolled out nationally, collecting data from 25 oil producers, four oil transportation companies and three oil refineries.

"Efforts continue to link the remaining oil and gas companies to the information system," the Energy Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

The oil and gas accounting system is an integrated system of oil producers, transportation companies, and refineries aimed at processing and storing data on the production, processing, and transportation of oil and gas. The system helps to make forecasts on the turnover of crude oil and gas condensate and generates reports automatically.

The oil and gas accounting system was tested in May 2021, with only four oil producers, four oil transportation companies, and three oil refineries having joined the project and 100 oil and gas companies due to be connected by the end of 2021. The participants were expected to install metering devices to enter the data into the system at their own expense.
