Haval begins sales of locally produced Dargo crossover in Russia

MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - China's Great Wall has begun sales of its Haval Dargo crossover in the Russian market.

The car, which has a 2-liter gasoline engine (192 hp), a semi-automatic transmission and two types of drive is available in four configurations - Comfort, Elite, Premium and Tech Plus.

The Dargo model is produced on a full cycle basis at the Haval plant in the Tula region, along with other vehicles of the SUV segment: F7, F7x, H9 and Jolion. In addition, Haval Motor Rus LLC distributes the GWM Poer and GWM Wingle 7 pickup trucks.

According to the Association of European Business (AEB), Haval sales in Russia in 2021 rose 2.2-fold to 39,100 cars. Market share increased from 1.1% to 2.3%. During January-May 2022, Great Wall Group, in which Haval accounts for the bulk of sales, reduced its sales in Russia by 19.3% (to 10,300 vehicles) - much less dramatically than some other famous brands. Great Wall's share in 5M amounted to 3.2% compared with 1.9% in 2021.
