Avtovaz delays Togliatti assembly plant's full restart by another week

SAMARA. June 9 (Interfax) - Avtovaz has delayed the restart of divisions that assemble cars based on the Bo and Niva platform by another week due to lack of components, the company's trade union said on VKontakte.

"Downtime from June 14 to June 17 with compensation of two-thirds of the average wage is set for employees involved in the production of cars, and support and servicing units engaged in the production the family of cars on the B0 and Niva platform, and not involved in urgent repair work, equipment maintenance and support and training," it said.

Union leader Sergei Zaitsev told Interfax that the Togliatti assembly plant's full restart was being delayed by another week, given that June 13 is a national holiday and partial downtime has been announced for June 14-17.

Three assembly lines have been operating at Avtovaz's Togliatti plant manufacturing the Lada Granta (SKP Kalina), the Niva (N3) family, as well as the Bo line, where the Lada Largus and Lada Xray models and the Renault Logan and Renault Sandero models are manufactured.
