Ireland's Kingspan to invest 200 mln euros in construction hub in Ukraine

MOSCOW. June 8 (Interfax) - Kingspan, the Irish manufacturer of thermal-insulation energy efficient building solutions, plans to invest 200 million euros in a new Building Technology Campus in Ukraine.

"The new Building Technology Campus we are planning will make positive contributions on all three fronts, supporting Ukraine as it rebuilds its economy, meeting demand across central and Eastern Europe for energy efficient buildings, and helping Europe to reduce reliance on oil and gas imports," Ukrainian media quoted Kingspan CEO Gene Murtagh as saying.

The company plans to start developing the project immediately, Murtagh said. The hub is to be located in western Ukraine and should be completed within five years, creating over 600 new jobs.

Kingspan was founded in 1965 and specializes in construction solutions for building envelopes (roof, walls, facades), as well as protective walls, cold storage doors, high-tech solid urethane and solid phenolic thermal insulation for roofs, walls, floors and pipelines. Kingspan operates 198 manufacturing facilities worldwide.

Kingspan has earlier donated $750,000 to UNICEF to set up five Blue Dot centers for refugees on Ukrainian borders.
