Luxury car dealer Avilon to start selling China's Chery, Exeed, FAW, Changan brands

MOSCOW. June 8 (Interfax) - Avilon, a Russian automobile dealership group that focuses on luxury brands, has begun to sell the vehicles of four Chinese brands that have a presence in Russia.

"In just a month Avilon has received four dealerships for Chinese automobile brands. Specifically, we've begun to sell Exeed, Chery, FAW and Changan," Avilon marketing director Andrei Kamensky told Interfax.

He said the automobiles of Chinese brands have generally won the trust of Russian consumers in terms of their quality and trim. These four Chinese brands' combined share of the Russian market grew from 1.3% to 3% in 2021, Association of European Businesses data show.

"Their sales dynamic on the Russian market has been fairly successful in recent years. One can expect that going forward there will be increased interest among buyers foremost in budget sedans and crossovers," Kamensky said.
