Sibanthracite aims to boost coal output 50% to 36.5 mln tpy by 2026

NOVOKUZNETSK. June 8 (Interfax) - Sibanthracite Group, one of the world's largest producers and exporters of ultra high grade anthracite and Russia's biggest producer of metallurgical coal, plans to increase production to 36.5 million tonnes in 2025, a company presentation given at the Coal and Mining exhibition on Wednesday said.

The presentation said the group aims to increase production from 24.3 million tonnes in 2021 (the company previously reported a figure of 22.639 million tonnes) to 29.8 million tonnes this year, 33 million tonnes in 2023, 35.5 million tonnes in 2024 and 36.5 million tonnes in 2025.

Production could therefore increase by 50% in 2025 compared to 2021.

"Sibanthracite plans to maintain high rates of production in the next three years due to the ongoing growth of demand for its products on international markets," the company said in a statement at the end of January. Most of the group's mining operations are in Novosibirsk Region.
