Russia registers 3,646 new cases of Covid-19, 79 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. June 8 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 3,646 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 1,618 hospitalizations and 79 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday.

"As of June 8, Russia registered 3,646 new cases of Covid-19 and 1,618 patients were hospitalized, down 13.3% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 26 Russian constituent territories, has decreased in 51, and has remained unchanged in eight, it said.

Another 79 patients died from Covid-19 over the day, versus 73 the day before.

Daily morbidity has grown by 387 cases from 3,259 reported on Tuesday.

"Meanwhile, 4,737 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, down 7.8% from June 7," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,362,105 cases of Covid-19, including 379,736 deaths and 17,777,625 recoveries.
