NPP construction in Turkey, China ahead of schedule - Rosatom head

IRKUTSK. June 8 (Interfax) - Rosatom does not see any lag in the construction of nuclear power plants in foreign countries, Rosatom head Alexei Likhachev said at a meeting in Usolye-Sibrskoye, Irkutsk region on Wednesday.

"Our construction works are actually being done ahead of schedule in Turkey and China," Likhachev said.

About 100,000 people, including citizens of Russia, Belarus, Turkey and Bangladesh, are engaged in Rosatom projects and facilities in foreign countries, he said.

"The state corporation is experiencing huge pressure" [from the West] against the backdrop of the latest events, Likhachev said.

Rosatom is building the Suydapu and Tianwan nuclear power plants in China and the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey.
