PM Shmyhal tells ministries to draft grant program to support Ukrainian small, medium-sized businesses

MOSCOW. June 7 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has tasked the country's relevant ministries with drawing up a draft grant program to support small and medium-sized businesses.

"On instructions from the president of Ukraine, the government is working out a grant program to support small and medium-sized businesses. The main principles of such a program were discussed at a meeting attended by the Economy Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Employment Fund, and the Entrepreneurship Development Fund," Shmyhal said on social media, according to Ukrainian media outlets.

By providing grants to small and medium-sized businesses and manufacturers, the government expects to be able to "warm up" the economy, stimulate the creation of new jobs and cover the Ukrainians' needs in high-quality products, he said.

"I have tasked the ministries with urgently developing proposals and submitting them to the government for consideration," Shmyhal said.
