Pumping via Nord Stream reduced by 11% for 2 weeks due to technical maintenance, scheduled stoppage due in July

MOSCOW. June 6 (Interfax) - The pumping capacity of the Nord Stream offshore pipeline, the main route for Russian gas supplies to Europe, has been reduced by 11% for two weeks due to maintenance, the pipeline operator Nord Stream AG said in a statement.

From June 3 to 29, Nord Stream will undergo "a scheduled regular internal inspection of the offshore pipeline system with various temporary capacity limitations." In particular, from June 3 to 17 capacity of 19 million cubic meters per day from total capacity of 170 million cubic meters per day is not available.

Flow through the pipeline on June 4 and 5 has already decreased to 155 million cubic meters per day after an average of 168 million cubic meters in the first three days of June.

The Nord Stream trans-Baltic pipeline with a length of 1,224 km and a capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year was put into operation in November 2011. It pumps up to 170 million cubic meters of gas per day.

The annual scheduled maintenance of Nord Stream with a complete shutdown of transportation this year is scheduled for the period from July 11 to 21.
