Norway ready to contribute to restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure - Energy Ministry
MOSCOW. June 6 (Interfax) - Ukraine and Norway have discussed the restoration of Ukraine's energy sector consistent with modern ecological standards, Ukrainian mass media said with the reference to the Ukrainian Energy Ministry's press service.
According to the press service, Norway would like to contribute to the restoration of the Ukrainian energy sector by joining the respective international initiatives supporting Ukraine. These include projects that accumulate international donations, such as equipment, materials and fuel for Ukrainian energy companies, and financial assistance.
Norway may also participate in the fulfilment of a memorandum on the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which has been signed by the Energy Ministry and the United Nations Development Program.
"Ukraine does not seek to rebuild its energy sector by the Soviet model, instead it wants to upgrade the energy system so that it becomes modern and green," Energy Minister Yaroslav Demchenkov said.
