EU bans providing technical assistance, financing for transport of Russian oil

MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - The European Union has banned the provision of direct or indirect technical assistance, brokering services, or financing or financial assistance connected to the transport of crude oil or petroleum products produced in or exported from Russia to third countries, including through ship-to-ship transfers.

The ban does not apply to the execution of contracts concluded before June 4, 2022 or ancillary contracts necessary for the execution of such contracts until December 5, 2022, according to the published document.

Also allowed is the transport of crude oil or petroleum products if they originate in a third country and are only being loaded in and sent from Russia or transiting through it, provided the owner and the origin of the these products are not Russian.
