U.S. adds Mordashov and family members, Severstal, Nordgold to sanctions list

MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - The United States Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has added Russian entrepreneur Alexei Mordashov and members of his family, as well as companies under their control, to the specially designated nationals and blocked persons (SDN) list.

OFAC said that in addition to Alexei Mordashov, his sons Nikita and Kirill Mordashov, as well as Marina Mordashova, are subject to blocking sanctions as of today.

The SDN sanctions list also includes companies associated with the Mordashov family, including Severstal , Severgroup, Nordgold , and Algorithm.

The license to curtail operations with Severstal is valid until August 31, and with Nordgold until July 1.

Shares in Severstal plummeted more than 12% on the news, to 841 rubles per share.
