Egypt buys 175,000 tonnes of Russian wheat in tender

MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - Egypt bought 175,000 tonnes of Russian wheat in a tender held on Wednesday by the General Authority for Supply Commodities, an Egyptian government agency that purchases food products, Russian Union of Grain Exporters CEO Eduard Zernin told Interfax.

Russian exporters will supply three shiploads on the clearing and forwarding terms.

This was the first tender for the supply of wheat in the new season that will begin on July 1.

"This is a fairly good result that shows confidence in our competitiveness on the global market, despite the hidden impediments of foreign banks and shipowners," Zernin said.

According to the tender information, C&F is $480 per tonne.
