OPEC+ principles remain significant, relevant - Lavrov, following consultations in Riyadh

RIYADH. June 1 (Interfax) - The European Union's decision to partially ban imports of Russian oil was discussed at a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the principles of interaction within the OPEC+ format remain relevant, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"Concerning our discussions here with our counterparts from the Arabian monarchies, we've addressed this subject, but we did this exclusively in the context of reaffirming the agreements on interaction within OPEC+, which have already been achieved and have been confirmed repeatedly between our leaders," Lavrov said at a press conference in Riyadh.

"Principles of interaction on this basis remain significant and relevant," he said.
