Tatneft assets seized in Ukraine - authorities

MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - Assets, accounts and corporate rights belonging to Russia's Tatneft group in Ukraine have been seized, the Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) said.

Local media report that 115 real estate assets have been seized: oil depots, filling stations, nonresidential buildings and land plots, as well as 118 fuel tankers and other automobiles. The property is valued at just over UAH 2 billion or $68 million at the current rate. Corporate rights and accounts of the Russian group's enterprises worth UAH 400 million were also seized.

The assets will be transferred to the national Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA).

The SBI claims that Tatneft supplies oil products for the needs of the Russian Defense Ministry.

Tatneft was not immediately available for comment.
