Canada imposes sanctions on 22 persons, 4 legal entities from Russia over Ukraine situation

WASHINGTON. May 31 (Interfax) - Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly has announced the imposition of sanctions on 22 Russian citizens over the Russian special operation in Ukraine.

Restrictions have also been imposed on four Russian companies, a statement, published on Tuesday, said.

"Among the individuals and entities listed are senior officials of Russian financial institutions and their family members, as well as key financial institutions and banks," the statement said.

"Canada will continue to explore new ways to exert pressure on the Russian regime," it said.
