Russia registers 3,526 new cases of Covid-19, 88 deaths in past 24 hours - HQ

MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - Russia has registered 3,526 new cases of Covid-19, as well as 2,536 hospitalizations and 88 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday.

"As of May 31, Russia recorded 3,526 new cases of Covid-19 and 2,536 patients were hospitalized, up 184.6% from the previous day," the headquarters said.

The number of hospitalizations has grown in 72 constituent territories, has decreased in eight, and has remained unchanged in five, it said. A total of 891 patients were hospitalized the day before.

Another 88 patients died over the past day, versus 74 the day before.

Daily morbidity has declined by 275 cases from 3,801 reported on Monday. Following a brief uptick in the number of infections, the morbidity levels are back to the minimum of mid-April 2020.

"Meanwhile, 5,486 patients have recovered, up 36.5% from May 30," the headquarters said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia has seen a total of 18,331,363 cases of Covid-19, including 379,117 deaths and 17,739,356 recoveries.
