Lukoil seeking contractor for construction and installation work at polypropylene project in Bulgaria

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Lukoil Neftochim Burgas AD, Bulgaria, has held a tender for construction and installation work at the Polypropylene complex project, according to the company's documentation.

Bids were accepted from applicants until May 29.

Lukoil indicated that at least one contract exceeding 600 million Bulgarian lev, or 300 million euros, for repairs in the oil refining, chemical or polymer industries, which must have been completed within the last five years or currently be valid, was required for those participating in the bidding.

As previously reported, polypropylene output capacity of 300,000 tonnes is planned for the refinery in Burgas in terms of raw materials (propylene).

Lukoil planned to complete the preliminary design stage (FEED) in 2021 for two polypropylene projects, including one in Nizhny Novgorod at 500,000 tonnes, as well as the project in Bulgaria. Construction began on production at the Nizhny Novgorod refinery in July last year, with project investment estimated at 61 billion rubles and commissioning scheduled for 2025.
