France ready to become mediator in Ukraine-Russia open dialogue - French FM

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - France stands ready to act as a mediator in an open dialogue between Ukraine and Russia when need be, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna said.

"There will come a day when it will be necessary to hold talks. And for this dialogue to be open and serious, and in order to achieve a result, we will stand by Ukraine to be a mediator in such negotiations and in conditions, in a context when these talks will be needed. Our country, and not our country alone, stands ready to assume the role of a mediator in an open dialogue," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Colonna as saying at a press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv on Monday.
