Net traffic into Ukraine persists for 20 days, tops 140,000

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Net traffic into Ukraine through its western border has been persisting for 20 consecutive days since May 9 and the arrivals have totaled 142,000.

Ukrainian media outlets said, citing statements by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on social media, that nearly 35,000 people left Ukraine on May 29, as against 40,000 the day before, while the number of arrivals stood at over 44,000 and almost 45,000, respectively.

According to the service, the number of humanitarian trucks cleared on the border declined from 251 to 144 day on day.

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees reported that 6.737 million people left Ukraine as of 1 p.m. on May 27, including 3.582 million for Poland, 1,059,470 for Romania and Moldova, 971,420 for Russia (information as of May 26), 671,460 for Hungary, 454,960 for Slovakia, and 29,550 for Belarus (information as of May 26.

A total of 2.23 million people arrived in Ukraine between February 28 and May 27, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said.
