Latvia's chancellery in Kaliningrad to stop offering consular services, accepting visa applications

KALININGRAD. May 27 (Interfax) - The chancellery of the consular section of the Latvian embassy to Russia is terminating its operations in Kaliningrad, the diplomatic mission said on its website.

"Due to the closure of Latvia's chancellery in Kaliningrad, it will stop providing consular services and accepting visa applications starting on May 30 of this year," it said.

Citizens requiring consular assistance or other services should contact the Latvian embassy in Moscow, or telephone the consular department of the Latvian Foreign Ministry in the event of an emergency.

Meanwhile, the Consulates General of Poland, Lithuania and Germany continue operating in Kaliningrad. Lithuania's consulate is also open in Sovietsk, on the Russian-Lithuanian border.
