Moscow declares 5 employees of Croatian embassy personae non gratae - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - Russia is expelling five employees of the Croatian embassy in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

Croatian Ambassador Tomislav Car was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry and "a strong protest was lodged against the unfounded attempts of the Croatian authorities to blame Russia for war crimes in Ukraine and the military assistance given by the Croatian side to the neo-Nazi Kyiv regime," the ministry said in a statement on its website.

"In retaliation against the unfriendly steps of Zagreb, which capped the Russian diplomatic presence, Car was presented with a note that declared five employees of the Croatian embassy in Moscow personae non gratae," the ministry said.
