Zelensky sees double standards in several countries' actions in assisting Ukraine

RIGA. May 26 (Interfax/BNS) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized a number of countries for hypocrisy and double standards in assisting Ukraine, without naming which countries he was referring to.

Zelensky in a video address to Saeima deputies and the people of Latvia on Thursday asked rhetorically why countries that are determined to act and help are not among the richest, while richer countries are stepping aside and not finding ways to help, the BNS news agency reported.

These countries "deserve to be criticized for cowardice, hypocrisy and double standards," and the reason for this behavior is money, Zelensky said. "They are looking for profit and are only capable of thinking about income, interest and bank statements. There are also those who cherish unreasonable hopes of being able to pacify Russia [...]," the Ukrainian president said.

At the same time, Zelensky did not say which countries he was referring to.
