Lithuania to supply 15.5 mln euros worth of weapons to Ukraine

VILNIUS. May 25 (Interfax/BNS) - Lithuania will supply Ukraine with 20 M113 armored personnel carriers, ten military trucks and ten off-road vehicles for demining operations worth 15.5 million euros in total, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"We are sending armored personnel carriers, trucks and off-road vehicles needed by Ukraine," the ministry quoted Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas as saying in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, Lithuania began to supply weapons to Ukraine before February 24, 2022. The deliveries included Stinger air defense missile systems, anti-tank weapons, body armor and helmets, 120mm mortars, small arms, ammunition, thermal imagers, unmanned aerial vehicles, anti-drones, and surveillance radars.

In all, Lithuania's military assistance to Ukraine has neared 100 million euros.

In addition, Ukrainians are being trained in Lithuania to operate the delivered weapons. The first 20 anti-tank system instructors completed their training in late April.
