Russian Ministry of Digital Development to transform domestic software register into marketplace

SKOLKOVO, Moscow region. May 25 (Interfax) - The Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media will relaunch the register of domestic software and will transform it into a marketplace of software solutions, Minister of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev said.

"We will relaunch our register of software and will turn it into a full-fledged marketplace," Shadayev said at a Startup Village strategic session in Skolkovo on Wednesday.

The platform will feature a simplified interface for accessing customers and the products available on it, he said.

Solutions that have already been applied on the market will be available on the marketplace as well, Shadayev said.

Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development Maxim Parshin said earlier that a Russian software marketplace would start operating in April.

The register of domestic software, which was established in 2016, includes more than 13,000 products from 4,200 copyright holders. The inclusion in the register offers copyright holders preferences as they participate in acquisitions and makes them eligible for tax benefits.
