Zelensky, Michel discuss aid to Ukraine

KYIV. May 25 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has discussed with European Council President Charles Michel food security and Ukraine's progress towards membership in the European Union.

"On the eve of the special meeting of the European Council on May 30-31, continued dialogue with Charles Michel. Aid to Ukraine will be a cross-cutting issue. Coordinated steps to strengthen sanctions, food security, rebuild Ukraine and move towards EU membership," Zelensky wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

In his turn, Michel said on Twitter that ways to stop the blockade of Ukrainian Black Sea ports were also discussed.

"Also looked into global food security and efforts to unblock Ukraine's sea ports," Michel said.

He said they discussed ways to support the recovery of Ukraine and briefed Zelensky on the agenda of the next meeting of EU foreign ministers.
