Ukrainian budget gets $305,000 as first revenue from 'Google tax' - parliamentarian

KYIV. May 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine's state budget has received $305,000 from the OnlyFans adult entertainment website as the first revenue from the so-called 'Google tax' instituted in 2021, Danylo Hetmantsev, head of the Verkhovna Rada Finance, Tax, and Customs Policy Committee, said on Telegram.

"The first budget revenue from the Google tax: the OnlyFans website, $305,000," Hetmantsev said.

As reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada passed legislation instituting the Google tax in 2021, which proposed equal tax regulations for international and Ukrainian tech companies. In particular, it stipulates that international companies working in Ukraine's information environment and cashing in on web ads shall pay taxes, particularly VAT, in Ukraine.
